Resident Evil

Does Resident Evil run on R36S?

Yes. PlayStation 1 games are rated Perfect on the R36S (RK3326): they generally run at full speed.

Excellent emulation on all R36 models. Nearly the entire PS1 library runs at full speed.

Made for a 4:3 TV, so it fills the 3.5-inch screen of the R36S, R36 Pro and R36H. On the 4-inch square screen (R36S Plus, R36 Max, R36S Ultra) it shows with bars at the top and bottom.

Ratings are estimates for the whole PlayStation 1 library on the RK3326 chip, not a test of this one title. Compare R36 models

How to set up Resident Evil on R36S

File types

.chd, .pbp, .cue + .bin, .m3u for multi-disc

Usual emulator

PCSX-ReARMed

BIOS

Recommended: scph1001.bin, scph5501.bin

1. Power off, take out the game card (the TF2/GAME slot on dual-slot units) and open it on a computer.
2. Copy the game file you own into the PlayStation 1 folder, and the BIOS file into the BIOS folder.
3. Put the card back, restart, and open PlayStation 1 from the main menu.
4. In game, the RetroArch quick menu (usually Select + X on ArkOS) has save states and display settings.

CHD or PBP saves a lot of card space. For multi-disc games, an .m3u file lists the discs so you can swap them from the menu.
