Dungeon Explorer

Does Dungeon Explorer run on R36S?

Yes. Sega CD games are rated Perfect on the R36S (RK3326): they generally run at full speed.

Full-speed on all R36 models — the CD hardware is still 16-bit. Requires the region-matching Sega CD BIOS, and games are large because of the CD audio and video.

Made for a 4:3 TV, so it fills the 3.5-inch screen of the R36S, R36 Pro and R36H. On the 4-inch square screen (R36S Plus, R36 Max, R36S Ultra) it shows with bars at the top and bottom.

Ratings are estimates for the whole Sega CD library on the RK3326 chip, not a test of this one title. Compare R36 models

💿About the Sega CD

The 1991 CD add-on for the Mega Drive brought CD audio, full-motion video and much larger games. It is remembered for both its FMV misfires and genuine highlights like Sonic CD, Lunar: The Silver Star and Snatcher.
