Japan-only release
The 2000 colour revision of the WonderSwan added a colour screen and more RAM while keeping backwards compatibility. Its best-known titles are the Final Fantasy I and II remakes and Digimon.
Full-speed on all R36 models, and it plays the original mono WonderSwan library too.
The chip is the same in every model, so the rating is too. What differs is the screen: 4:3 panels suit most home consoles, the 1:1 square panel suits Game Boy and GBA and shows 4:3 games with bars.
The R36 handheld family runs WonderSwan Color titles with perfect compatibility out of the box.
